Cellerbrations

This little store at the foot of a unit block near the Royal Brisbane Hospital always seems to have 6-packs of something good on sale for about $2-$3 off.
I have gotten Little Creatures Pale for as low as $14.99, and White Rabbit Dark for that as well.
Other notables have been White Rabbit White, Mountain Goats, Hargreaves, 3 Ravens, and a few others that slip my mind right now.
Usually they are reduced to $16.99, but when Dan's & 1st Choice sells it for $19.99, it's a deal!
It just takes someone who gives a damn about beer to pick up a franchise!

6 Beers On A Menu

I've stolen this idea straight from a question asked on Aussie Home Brewers, so I can't claim it as my own. But it got me thinking.

If you ran a restaurant or a bar and you were given the option of putting 6 beers on a menu for your clients, what would they be and why?

In the original post on AHB the owner had the problem of the public not knowing much about craft beer and primarily being swill drinks. I'm not going to enforce that, so lets assume they are happy to pay a premium for a quality beer and that they are your typical craft beer drinker.

I'm not going to go first, unless no one else replies, as I don't want to influence anyone with my choices - but I imagine there will be some excellent menus given the people who are active on these boards.

My U.s. Beer Log

I'm in the states for my daughter's graduation, and of course to drink beer. I got an early start when my last flight of the day was delayed in San Francosco. The Yankee Pier right next to my gate had Anchor Steam and Samuel Adams Boston Lager, so I had two each before the plane finally was ready to board.

I got to Seattle where my brother picked me up at the airport, and he immediately took me to the Elliot Bay Brewpub where I had a Darkstarrand a Demolition Ale. This last one tasted very similar to the Mt Tambourine Mountain Bitter I had at the Brewhouse in Brisbane last week. Very good this!

We then visited DC's Bar and Grill in Renton for $2 pints, and enjoyed a Longhammer IPA, a Skinny Dip, and an Alaskan Amber before finally getting to the folks.

The next day we were off to a Seattle Mariners baseball game, where we had expensive ballpark pints of Snoqualmie Grand Slam Amber Ale. It was yummy, and after watching the Mariners lose, we left to go.

Down the street we stopped at the Elyasin Fields brewpub, where I had a Poison Dwarf Dark Ale. It was a bready meal! We then rode the bus back to Renton and ended the night at the Beachcomber Tavern wih a couple Mac and Jack's African Amber.

Took a day off to take care of unfinished business, but tomorrow I go to my daughter's graduation. While in the old neighborhood of the Northern Exposure TV show, I'll visit the Roslyn Brewery and the Brick Tavern.

I'll update this when I can. I'm on a 49.2Kbps dial-up connection so things move slow.

Cheers all!

Looking For A Certain Imported Beer In Australia

Hey guys, I'm looking for a beer I had when I was in the US and can't seem to find it back home.

This is the particular beer I am after, Allagash

I loved this beer, it's strong and tastes great.

I've been to numerous stores around my area and in Sydney and can never see it. If someone knows a good place to import beer or has any suggestions for a similar alternative I'd greatly appreciate it.

Cheers!

Think You Know Beer? Please Help Me Write A Beer Menu!

Hi Guys,

I've been asked to provide a short description of the following beers, promoting each beer if you will. Hoping you can help me out since I'm no beer connoisseur. Thanks..

The beers are:
Pure Blonde – Fresh, light bodied, low carb, crisp tasting beer.
Heineken – Full bodied .. etc
Carlton Draught -
Cascade Light -
Cascade -
Asahi –
Stella Artois –
Tooheys New -
VB -
Guiness -
James Boags Premium -
Corona -
Tsingtao -

Some background: I'm a trainee bartender and have been given this task by my boss. I can only find orthodox reviews (positives/negatives) on these beers, and I'm just getting used to this forum. Basically I need to write that little blurb next to each beer on a beer menu!

Cheers!
