Hops:
Hop vines are grown in cool climates and brewers make use of the cone-like flowers. The dried cones are available in pellets, plugs, or whole.

Red Duck Brewery

Once upon a lake, and what seems like a long, long time ago, a brewery started on the shores of Purrumbete. Just a small, humble brewery with dreams of making great ales. The beer and brewery were named after the noble Shelducks who came to visit when the first brewery was being built. Now when Shelducks are seen it is taken as a good omen, a sign of success and enjoyment to come. And yes, of a great ale that needs to be drunk. Red Duck beers are currently being made elsewhere, as they are “between breweries” so to speak, but they continue to strive for all natural, full flavoured, chemical free, unfiltered and unpastuerised real ales. All Red Duck beers are made from natural ingredients; malt, fresh rain water, hops and select yeast. Our beers are unfiltered to keep the true flavours of real beer and we use no added preservatives. Our ales are naturally carbonated in the bottle. Red Duck beers are real ales, with rich, malt driven flavours.
