Spitfire is brewed with pure spring water from their own artesian well, and premium English malts and 3 types of Kentish hops (Goldings, First Gold, and Flowery Target). Brewed in commemoration of the plane that won the Battle of Britain where so many of the dogfights were over the hop fields of Kent, this award-winning ale is a well balanced treat to drink.

I had this beer many years ago at a CAMRA beer festival in the UK, and the bottle version is every bit as good. There is an outstanding hoppy aroma from the glass. The beer is smooth and creamy and quite refeshing; at 4.5% you could put a few of these away. Excellent drop!

I was amazed at the brilliant colour and texture. For a British Kentish Ale it is superb. I agree with Arassuil's comments and yes I would like to try this on tap. |

A clean, smooth, well-balanced ale this is. Pours a deep golden bronze colour with a rich white head that dissipates quickly. A rich malt start curves into a spicy hop finish, and it leaves you fulfilled without too much heaviness. I worried about the clear bottling and lightstrike when I bought a few of these from the clearance barrel, but I was quite happy with this brew, and hope to someday try this one on tap. |
