A heavy sweet smell upon opening, followed by a nice hoppy flavour when tasting.  I didn't have the option to use a glass so I drank it out of the bottle. I thought it to be more of a pale ale than a lager, but have to say its quite good. I would drink this again.

What an aroma, quite strong and distinct. Fruity (bananas) and a little hoppy which leads you to believe it will be nice and bitter. It is very pale in colour and has a thinnish head.

The body is quite thin and is carbonated quite well and presents quite an easy to drink crisp feel.

There is a heavy amount of bitterness at first which is balanced out and leaves quite a refreshing aftertaste. There are not a lot of different flavours, pretty much just the hoppy bitterness and a smooth light malt aftertaste. In 'Desert' the flavours which I could detect remind me more of a Pilsner then a typical Aussie Lager and there-in lies the wonder of boutique beers.

If you are looking for a unique Aussie flavour with a German/Bavarian twist make sure you check this beer out.
