Common Beer Terms
Chill Haze:
A cloudiness, or haze that occurs in beer when it gets cold as a result of the proteins and polyphenols bonding with hydrogen. Once the beer warms up this should disappear. It is possible to add clarifying agents to beer to prevent chill haze from occurring.

Harviestoun's original brewmaster Ken Brooker spent much of his early life crafting wooden design prototypes for the Ford Motor Company. This black, viscous beer reminded Ken of thick, gloopy car engine oil, so he named it in honour of his second love, the internal combustion engine.
Wickedly, wickedly snooth, this strong dark beer with its chocolatey flavour leaves a bittersweet aftertaste to savour.

Looks and pours exactly like its name. Nice chocolatey taste that lasts. I'm starting to get a liking to these dark beers. Worthy of its silver award in 2007. |

| This black beer poured nice into the glass, leaving about a cm of tan head atop the black liquid that dissipated quickly. A thick malt aroma, gives way to a malty, chocolate with a slightly licorice taste that turns coffeeish as the hops kick in. The finish is dry but lingers. A very good brew for the money! | ||||
