Where are the advertised hops? no where as hoppy as I expected so there was no bitter after-taste. Pity I only had one of these, could easily have drunk a couple more. Next time I spot some in a bottle shop I will purchase a few.

| It failed to disappoint, but then it wasn't what I would call a 'hoppy' beer, eing used to some American IPAs. I could detect a hoppy finish to it, but it wasn't overpowering. It had that signature Grand Ridge malt taste, and was a nice brown-rust colour in the glass. I would gladly drink another one of these, and for the price, a very good deal! | ||||

A malty, sweet aroma that reminds me a little of Fruit and Nut chocolate. Its a very appealing aroma and would score higher if only a little stronger. Appearance wise, this would have to be the ultimate Australian Dark Ale. A wonderful creamy head, plenty of bubbles and a nice dark - yet slightly transparent look. The flavour is definately malty, very malty with chocolate or toffee aftertastes. There is a sweetness to it, which is strong but not overpowering. It is advertised as being strong on the hops, yet whilst I could detect the hops I would hardly say its a hoppy beer. If anything its a very sweet beer, quite the opposite. However there is a unique bitternes in the aftertaste. This is a solid performer, and if you like sweet and/or dark beers this is certainly worth a taste. |
