What a fantastic looking beer once poured. Slightly hazy with a foamy head and lots of tiny bubbles. I can only assume the haze is due to the mixing of some left over yeast in the bottle - but I can't be certain; although it does make the beer look more complex and interesting.

The aroma is quite deceiving in that it is rather sweet and almost like butterscotch - which made me think its possibly going to be Diacetyl in flavour. Hard to smell the hops although masked behind the butterscotch is hints of fresh-cut grass.

There is quite a complexity to this beer once it hits your mouth, you are presented with a sweetness which is rounded out nicely by a minor sourness, and a creamy feel on your tongue which is probably a result of the fine bubbles and foamy head. Be warned this is quite a sour/bitter lager and will be prefered by those who like a heavy hopping - I'm guessing a late dry hopping is the cause.

Having been somewhat dissapointed in the past by Grand Ridge this is a fine Pilsner, although not entirely true to style it is an excellent beer.

Food tip: Try this with a curry or chilli dish, you'll really enjoy it as they are a fine match.
