Comments:

I expected so much. A German Lager from the Black Forest. How could it fail to deliver? But was I expecting too much?

I've never met a German beer I didn't like, but I started questioning Furstenberg's ancestry. Was this really a German beer?

To be honest, the aroma was fine, as was it's appearance. Even the flavour was passable. But for some reason...I couldn't put my finger on it...but for some reason, I didn't feel compelled to crack open a second bottle. Very unusual. Was it because I was suffereing a cold and my senses were not working properly? Probably.

If I had to make a comparison, I would liken it to VB. Not because of flavour or drinkability, just because it's the type of beer a 16 year old would take to a party, drink the first 3 or 4 for Dutch Courage, get shot down by the Hot Chick, and spend the rest of the night drinking the rest of the case and most of the next morning using it as garden burley.

It's saving Grace is that it is reasonably priced, and compared to similarly priced beers, it is actually has flavour.

Pretty ordinary but in its defence, i got it out of a bargain bin as it was nearing its best before date.

That said, it wasn't off yet, and malt and hops could be detected but nowhere near as good a drinking experience as similar German lagers such as Konig Pils and Bitburger.

Pick up a sixpack for some variety while watching the footy.

typical light tasting beer like many of it's German cousins, rich malty (?) flavour with a lite bitter after taste, quite nice :) (sorry, no fancy words like Nathan's review :))
