Almost identical to my 'on tap' review in that there still is very little aroma, infact there is less here then there was with the on tap review. A very macro looking and tasting beer with little complexity and a lot less flavour compared to fresh from the keg. |

| Unfortunately there was very little aroma from this beer. Although it did look crisp, clean and inviting there wasn't enough carbonation (bubbles) in it for my liking. Maybe I'm just being picky? XXXX Gold had a mild hoppy taste with little bitterness and a subtle sweet kick as an aftertaste. You can tell its a mid-strength beer as it tastes low alcoholic, but that in my opinion adds to its character. Some people claim this tastes similar to XXXX Bitter, but that is utter rubbish, Gold is a much nicer drop. Whilst nothing earth shattering about XXXX Gold it's still worthy of a drink on a hot afternoon in front of the cricket or football, even during your lunch break on a friday afternoon before heading back to work. Make sure its chilled though, its fairly unenjoyable as it warms up. |

| For a "XXXX", not too bad. Still pretty average, nothing special. Drinkable very chilled on a hot day when there's few other options. | ||||
