First Harvest is the only brew of its kind in Australia brewed using fresh green hops. Once a year, at the first harvest of hops in Tasmania's Derwent Valley, we hand select new hop varieties to brew a single batch of suport fresh, super premium beer. Within hours of harvesting, the dew soaked, green hops are combined with new season pale malt, Cascade's exclusive yeast and the purest Tasmanian water. The result is a limited edition finish and prominent herbaceous aromas.

I tracked this down on the back of great reviews for previous years but I find the bitterness overwhelming and unpleasant. almost acidic. it does smell better than it tastes. as I foolishly bought a carton I still have 22 sitting in the fridge, wish I could offload it on to someone who actually likes it. |

(2008 batch) What a lovely brew! A ruby-bronze colour and a hoppy aroma, the taste is long and balanced. Cascade makes decent beer, but this is what beer should taste like! I managed to get the last six in the chiller at the local 1st Choice. If you spot it on the shelf, get it, you won't be disappointed. |

| (2007 Release) - Im lost for words! A very aromatic beer with strong hoppy accents. First Harvest poured beautifully with a nice creamy head sitting proudly upon a deep amber, well carbonated Beer. Its when you taste the beer you realise how complex it actually is. The aroma tricks you into thinking it will be excessively hoppy and not much else. However, the strength of the malt balances out the hops and produces a full bodied, full flavoured complex flavour. Its a very strong flavour, similar to 'Vintage Ale' even though its ABV is only 5.5% and the timing of its release is perfect as this Beer is a great winter warmer. Take note now, this is a very limited release Beer and you will kick yourself if you miss the chance to try it, get to your nearest stockist now before the single-batch runs dry! | ||||
