Carlton Draught is one of the nation's biggest selling tap beers, taking out 'Best Tap Beer' at the Australian Liquor Industry Awards (ALIA) 2003. Being a traditional, full-strength lager, Carlton Draught is crisp on the mid-palate with a good malt character and smooth full-bodied flavour.
Clean hop bitterness gives the brew a slightly dry finish. Synonymous with the origins of the Carlton Brewery itself, Carlton Draught is renowned for tasting as fresh as it did the day it was brewed. And it's that kind of consistency in taste that's been important to Australians for generations.

| A good, solid, "real" beer. From the very start, the initial aroma after opening the stubby is strong, distinct yet hints at a general "real" beer flavour and is quite appealing. The taste is pretty good, with a pretty good finish, but I can't help but think that there's something lacking. Extra point for production in the full 375mL stubby. A fine Aussie beer! | |||

| Whilst this is my drink of preference when at my local pub/club I will say it isn't the best, nor the worst beer around. It isn't a bad beer, and deserves recognition for being a solid 'common beer', but there is nothing about it to make it stand out over something else in the bottle shop. When given the choice, you wouldn't buy a carton of this over something else based on taste alone, it would be habbitual that forced this purchase.
However, a solid 3/5 for being a enjoyable drinkable Draught that pours well, smells alright and looks inviting after a good game of Football. | |||
