Engine is a strong and hoppy ale. We use a combination of Cascade and East Golding hops. Its a full-flavoured, light golden coloured cloudy ale with a medium level of bitterness that comes across fruity, with hints of grapefruit, lychee, citrus, and piney aromas. Its unfiltered and untouched, this is a traditional beer as it should be.
Available on Tap at The Brewhouse.

Engine has been badged as an IPA, an Imperial Pale Ale, and now an American Pale Ale. Still, its my brew of choice when I visit The Brewhouse in Brisbane's CBD. A sweet flowery hop aroma comes from the inch of near-white head in the pint glass. It has a cloudy golden colour, and the first taste fills my mouth with a nice hoppy citrus flavour. It swallows smooth with a dry aftertaste that sets your hand and arm to lift the glass for another taste! A good 'first' beer this, but a few pints later, it still pleases! Just beware the stairs when leaving. Watching the tilts, staggers, and swerves of many a patron exiting has me asking myself how many headers had been taken. |
