Oh god, why bother? reminds me of a mate who used to drink XXXX Gold with a shot of Stone's Green Ginger wine, or all those weak as p*ss Mexican beers that need a slice of lime in the neck to give it flavour.

Might as well drink Green Sands

Pouring this beer I put aside all thoughts about I had about yet another Lemon/Lime beer and cleared my mind. It pours a very light straw colour and is carbonated well resulting in a thin yet fluffy head.

There is a strong lemon showing in the aroma however that is all I could detect. Flavourwise, well frankly, there is little 'beer' flavour to it which is consistent with other similar styled beers. This one however just reminded me of mix up cordial my mother would make when I was a kid or the alcoholic lemonade I make in my home brewery.

To be fair the flavour isn't bad, its quite refreshing and sweet with a crisp and dry finish - just not my cup of tea and at 1.1 standard drinks I'd rather drink Montieths Radler instead which at least tastes like beer. Barefoot Radler is quite light in terms of body and is sort of watery with no malt or hops detectable.

The difference between similar flavours like Bluebottle or Montieths Radler is the zest isn't overpowering, in Barefoot Radler the only flavour you can taste is lemon and it is far too much!

If you're after a sweet and refreshing summer quencher definately give Barefoot Radler a try but if you're after a fruity summer beer I'd suggest finding a fruit Hefe instead.
