Common Beer Terms

Chill Haze:
A cloudiness, or haze that occurs in beer when it gets cold as a result of the proteins and polyphenols bonding with hydrogen. Once the beer warms up this should disappear. It is possible to add clarifying agents to beer to prevent chill haze from occurring.

Unfortunately not my personal favourite from the team at Bacchus, but it was one of the more popular beers at the recent taste night at Bacchus Brewery. This one has a subtle hint of lime, without the lime being over-bearing like some of the lolly waters available commercially. This has a real dry taste, and the lime adds the right amount of zing to give the drinker a real taste sensation.
