Bulk Priming:
A technique used to prime your fermented beer in a single batch rather then individually as you would when bottling. Most people combine a mixture of water and sugar in a second vessel and rack the fermented beer on top of the sugar mixture. They would then bottle from the mixture without adding any sugar to the bottles as it has already mixed with the 'bulk' amount. A hit and miss technique, with as many failures as successful uses. Can also be used in kegging if your gas has run out.
About Beer Guide
Why Beer Guide
The idea for a beer review and ratings web site came to me whilst I was down at my local bottle shop. In front of me was a large selection of beers that at the time I had neither heard of, nor tried. When I asked the shop assistant what they tasted like, I got a very blank stare and a shrug of the shoulders.
From that point on I realised that there had to be a better way for me to try some of the great untasted beers, and beers from the smaller boutiques that many of us may not have heard of, around 18 months later Beer Guide Australia (www.beerguide.com.au) was born.
Since its initial inception in 2006 Beer Guide has grown from a small and humble site with a handful of reviews and beers in its directory to being one of Australia's leading beer and brewing websites. It is our aim to continue to grow and offer viewer reviews alongside of our own unbias and independant reviews to provide the public with a reliable guide to purchasing beer in Australia.
How We Work
Beers taste different to everyone, and everyone has different taste buds. For this reason it would be pointless for me to tell you what is great and you rely on my single opinion alone. You would most likely be upset and disappointed on at least one occassion due to my reviews and the sole purpose of this site would be negated.
To avoid this, we allow you as the reader to have an input into the site too. Once you try a Beer feel free to submit your review to our site. Beer Guide Australia is about sharing everyones experiences, not just one persons potentially bias opinion.
In doing so, you not only allow other viewers to read your opinion, but to also determine what the larger population feels too.
